4 Victims Shot at Howe Community Park Sacramento — Large Unauthorized Party Erupts in Gunfire
On April 18 2026, a large unauthorized party of several hundred people at Howe Community Park in Sacramento County's Arden-Arcade neighborhood erupted in gunfire when an estimated 20 to 25 gunshots were discharged as Sacramento County Sheriff's Office deputies were actively removing people from the park.
How Events Unfolded
Just after 6:30 PM, the Sacramento County law enforcement received reports involving individuals who may have been carrying concealed weapons at Howe Park. A second report advised of a reported fight and people running from the area.
A sheriff's helicopter was utilized and conducted an aerial search but could not find an active fight.
Despite this, a large crowd had congregated at Howe Park for what authorities described as an unauthorized gathering. Deputies set up around the park, activated emergency lights, and took about 15 minutes announcing over loudspeakers for people to leave over loudspeakers.
While deputies were dispersing the crowd, an estimated 20 to 25 rounds were discharged — sending the crowd scattering in panic.
Victims of the Shooting
Four gunshot victims — a woman and three men, all in their 20s — were transported to area hospitals.
